September 2018 MAR Club Athletes of the Month
Evan Arenz (Senior) - Boys' Soccer
The MAR Club Male Athlete of the Month for September is Evan Arenz, Senior, Boys’ Soccer. Coach Stephen Weston nominated Evan for these accomplishments:

“Evan has had an incredible season of soccer so far. He is a key member of the soccer team, and is a large part of the success we’ve seen this year. Evan is currently second in the WDA for goals scored with a total of nine. He is only two goals away from a school record of 11 in a season. Evan also has three assists in the season, which combines with his goals to put him at 12 points - tied for first in the WDA. Evan is a hard worker, and finds time to play soccer, and kick for the football team. He’s always looking to grow and improve and is a great influence on the team. Great work Evan!”
Mayson Sheldon (Junior) – Girls' Swimming and Diving
The MAR Club Female Athlete of the Month for September is Mayson Sheldon, Junior, Girls’ Swimming and Diving. Coach Ralph Manley nominated Mayson for these accomplishments:

“Mayson Sheldon had a great month of September for the Braves Swimming and Diving Team. She started off strong with a first place in the Minot dual, winning the 100 Breaststroke, and second place in her 200 Individual Medley. During the Capital City invite she showed more ability by placing second in the 500 Freestyle and top six in the 200 Freestyle. In West Fargo, she was the Braves only first-place finish of the meet at the Border Battle meet with eight Minnesota teams and several North Dakota teams. She swam a time of 1:10.52. The next weekend at the West Fargo Pentathlon and West Fargo Invite she continued her Heart of a Brave swim, finishing top five in four of the five events and again placing first in the 100 Breaststroke.

The Dickinson Legacy Double dual was a great meet for Mayson, where she took eight first places. She took first in her two individual events, the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Breaststroke; and she took two first places with relay team members in the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay. Her times in her individual events were the best of the season so far - 109.68 in the 100 Breaststroke, a 2½-second drop; and 2:19.19 in her 200 IM, almost a 3-second improvement. She is the first on the team this season to be State Qualified in all eight of the Swimming events. She truly had an amazing month of swimming for the Braves.”
